Big Walk

Filed under: Going out, Singapore — hendrikch @ 5:14 pm

Saying it’s a Big Walk is an under-statement. This should be called Gigantic Massive Mammoth Immense Walk!!!! Okay, I exxagerate here, but walking 10 km was not as easy as I thought. We woke up at 6.15 AM, and reached there almost 8.30 AM. We literally walked from National Stadium, turned in Nicoll Highway, went towards Esplanade, and made a U-turn at Fullerton, and back to National Stadium. I initially thought we could have finished the 10-km walk in 2 hours, but in the end, we took close to 3 hours to reach the finish point.
So, who went? Myself, Bayu, Momon, Eric, Asen, Anton, Melinda, and Patricia. We even saw Batman, Spiderman, and few people who wore fruits like tomato, grapes, etc. After the event, we went Serangoon for lunch, and back at home now. Bathed already, now typing blog, I should rest for a while, before going church later.
Below are the photos taken during our Big Walk by our trusty Asen’s Powershot G5. Click the respective photos for bigger-sized pictures. Complete original-size pictures are shared in my Imagestation gallery.

Update: Asen and Eric has put up their post on Big Walk in their blog as well. Check them out.

Outing at Sentosa

Filed under: Going out, Singapore — hendrikch @ 5:00 pm

Date: 02 April 2005. Time: 0900 hours.
Plan A: Go to Pulau Kusu. Status: Cancelled. Reason: Late and Raining
Plan B: Arcarde at Harbourfront. Status: Cancelled. Reason: The arcade was not there anymore.
Plan C: Play pool at Harbourfront. Status: Cancelled. Reason: Pool is located at the same place as the arcade. So…
Plan D: Go Sentosa. Status: ON.
Here are the pictures when we went for outing at Sentosa. We started early in the morning, went there to play beach volley ball, some went kayakking, then played pool, had chips and brownies for lunch, and went to Magic Wok at Novena Square for dinner. Weekend well spent, despite it being Plan D. Nuff said.

Gathered in Harbourfront Tower.

Arrived at Siloso Beach at Sentosa. It’s a nice beach now, though the sands are imported.

Kayakking, burning some calories.

Enjoying themselves.

Now, who’s at the other end of the phone? hehehe…

Aftermath from Sentosa, though it was not the end of the day, yet.

Chinese New Year – D minus 1

Filed under: Going out, Singapore — hendrikch @ 4:31 pm

Six of us gathered in Somerset, then scoutted around for our dinner. We went to Cineleisure, but the restaurants on the basement are all closed, so we tried Heeren, no luck. In the end, we stopped by Swensen’s at Crown Prince Hotel for our dinner and deserts… *nyum*

After that, we walked to Bar None besides Marriott Hotel, but well, we just walked by. We then proceeded to Boat Quay, walked one big round, took some snaps along the way. Reached home around 1 AM, and must now sleep to prepare for tomorrow.

And of course, here are the photos.

Deserts at Swensen’s

Walked half big round, half more round to go

So, how do you spend your Chinese New Year Eve?
