I have been reading lots and lots of reading materials today and yesterday, online, articles, PDFs, books, tons of stuffs, and today I learned quite a couple new words:

Atrocious: –adjective
1. extremely or shockingly wicked, cruel, or brutal: an atrocious crime.
2. shockingly bad or tasteless; dreadful; abominable: an atrocious painting; atrocious manners.

Bushel: –noun
1. a unit of dry measure containing 4 pecks, equivalent in the U.S. (and formerly in England) to 2150.42 cubic inches or 35.24 liters (Winchester bushel), and in Great Britain to 2219.36 cubic inches or 36.38 liters (Imperial bushel). Abbreviation: bu., bush.
2. a container of this capacity.
3. a unit of weight equal to the weight of a bushel of a given commodity.
4. a large, unspecified amount or number: a bushel of kisses.

See what more will I learn tomorrow.

Mystery cat takes regular bus to the shops

Filed under: Miscellaneous — hendrikch @ 9:36 pm

TravelingCatNTI_468x376Bus drivers have nicknamed a white cat Macavity after it has started using the No 331 several mornings a week.

The feline, which has a purple collar, gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus at the same stop most mornings – he then jumps off at the next stop 400m down the road, near a fish and chip shop.

I didn’t know cats are that smart haha…. then, do cats need to pay bus fare? hehe… :p

2006 Corruption Perceptions Index

Filed under: Miscellaneous — hendrikch @ 12:29 pm

The Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index ranks countries in terms of the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians. The rating goes from 0 (most corrupt) to 10 (least corrupt). Finland, Iceland, and New Zealand took the top spot with 9.6, Denmark in fourth with 9.5, Singapore in fifth with 9.4. Malaysia takes 44th spot with score of 5.0. Indonesia, sadly, lies all the way down in the table in 130th place out of 163 countries with score of only 2.4.Read more …

Some poems …

Filed under: Miscellaneous — hendrikch @ 10:35 pm

Poems by not so famous poets… found on toilet doors and walls………

1/ A budding poet trying his best…
Here I lie in stinky vapor,
Because some bastard stole the toilet paper, Shall I lie, or shall I
linger, Or shall I be forced to use my finger.

2/ Before he graduated to be a poet, he wrote this…
Here I sit
Broken hearted
Tried to shit
But only farted

3/ Someone who had a different experience wrote,
You’re lucky
You had your chance
I tried to fart,
And shit my pants!

4/ Perhaps it’s true that people find inspiration in toilets.
I came here
To shit and stink,
But all I do
Is sit and think.

5/ There are also people who come in for a different purpose…
Some come here to sit and think,
Some come here to shit and stink,
But I come here to scratch my balls,
And read the bullshit on the walls…

6/ Toilet walls also double as job advertisement space……. (written
high upon the wall)
If you can piss above this line, the Singapore Fire Department wants
you.

7/ Ministry of Environment advertisement.
We aim to please!
You aim too! Please

8/ On the inside of a toilet door:
Patrons are requested to remain seated throughout the entire
performance.

9/ And finally, this should teach some a lesson…
Sign seen at a restaurant:
The hands that clean these toilets also make your food…please aim
properly.

Televangelist

Filed under: Miscellaneous — hendrikch @ 11:39 pm

From Dian‘s blog, I tried this test. Well, end result is below, although come to think of it, there’s a very thin line between being confident and arrogant. Anyway, here’s the result.

Televangelist
You are 42% Rational, 71% Extroverted, 14% Brutal, and 71% Arrogant.

As the Lord as my witness, I swear upon the good book that you are indeed the TELEVANGELIST! Characterized by extreme arrogance, self-assurance, and extroversion, you would make a very charismatic leader (or a very despotic one). On top of that, you are also more intuitive than rational, predisposing you to a more spiritual or emotional outlook on life. Thus, you are thoroughly irrational. You also tend to be rather gentle and considerate of others’ feelings. Clearly, you would make the perfect televangelist. Emotional, extroverted, arrogant, and gentle, you annoy the hell out of people who have to listen to the feel-good, intuitive shit spewing from your mouth. Not only that, but people may look down on you as a self-centered asshat. So while you are gentle and genuinely care about others, it is quite clear that you still care about yourself MORE. Why is your personality flawed? Because you are too damned extroverted, emotional, and arrogant. So preach your irrational message, brotha-man! I assure you, no one will be listening!

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more INTUITIVE than rational.

2. You are more EXTROVERTED than introverted.

3. You are more GENTLE than brutal.

4. You are more ARROGANT than humble.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Spiteful Loner.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Hippie, the Starving Artist, and the Robot.

*

*

If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42% Extroversion is slightly leaning towards being an introvert, but is close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well. Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can determine which other possible categories you may fill if you scored near fifty percent for certain traits.

The other personality types:

The Emo Kid: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Starving Artist: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Bitch-Slap: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Brute: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hippie: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Televangelist: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Schoolyard Bully: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Class Clown: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Robot: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Haughty Intellectual: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Spiteful Loner: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Sociopath: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hand-Raiser: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Braggart: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Capitalist Pig: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Smartass: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.
