Two things that I want to update you in this entry.
Firstly, I have finished the article for Tabloid Penabur Jakarta I mentioned a couple of days ago, and thankfully my roommate has helped me to edit it. I will review the article this weekend and I will probably post them here early next week.
Another one, I was asked, though not confirmed, to help on managing the website of my church. Currently, there are many “branches” of the church around the globe which has their own website. Few that you can visit now are:
GRII Singapore
GRII Surabaya
MRII Sydney
MRII Boston
The idea here is to have a centralized “main” website which will have the link to individual websites around the world. Another issue is that each individual websites are hosted in different places. We wonder if we should host every single branch of church under the same root. For example, to go to GRII Singapore, rather than going to www.grii-singapore.org, maybe you can go to www.grii.org/singapore. Similarly, we may have www.grii.org/sydney, www.grii.org/surabaya, www.grii.org/boston, etc.
Also, maybe we can split them into more robust structure with the country as the folder and city as its subfolder such as www.grii.org/indonesia/jakarta, www.grii.org/indonesia/surabaya.
With this structure, we will have the similar design of website whichever country you go, unlike what we have now. Additionally, we can combine under the same subfolder all articles, sermon archives, forum, and many more.
The drawback from this structure is that it will be hard to maintain a global website with such a small team, but if this go through, I’m sure God will add the numbers needed.
What do you think? Should we gather every website under the same umbrella, or should we maintain the individuality of each web? This one, I really need your inputs, so please comment on this, k? Thanksssss…..
