So sad, my website has been down for one week now and there still no clue of when it will be back. I emailed the support, they said they are aware of this problem and now fixing it. It has been almost a week since they replied, and my website still down. Sorry for not being able to update this blog as often as last week, since I am currently rather busy with my work and personal life. It has been almost a non-stop week for me with not enough sleep. I really need a good rest during weekend. *sigh* Thank God It’s Friday.

After some time my website spent in cyber-trash can, it is now back online. The reason why it’s gone because my website was deleted due to content violation. Yes, content violation, in particular ONE MP3 file that I put in there. No, it’s not a song, but it’s the recording from Ravi Zacharias seminar held in Meritus Mandarin I attended two months ago. I wanted to send this file to my friend, but since he seldom come online in MSN, so I was thinking to send the file through dropload. However, realizing that he may not check his email in 48 hours (dropload allows only 48 hours maximum time of temporary storage), I decided to put the file in my webspace instead.
Bummerr… my website was gone the following day. Ah well, at least it’s back now. But still, I am wondering whether it will money well spent to get a better paid webhosting to save me from this kind of future agony, hehehe… Does US$3, US$5, or US$7.95 per month worth it?

Sorry everyone for not being able to resolve my website problem as soon as possible. Thanks to this issue, I am wondering whether it worth paying a small amount of money to get a good hosting and domain name at the same time. A normal package costs around US$7.95 per month, while some really basic package costs from $3 to $5. And as usual, one year payment in advance will get a free domain name. Honestly, I have been really considering this option, since I just couldn’t find a free webhosting that up to my standard and one which let me creatively design my webpage.
Talking about domain name, what do you think suits me best? www.hendrikch.com, www.hendrikch.info, www.chimit.info, www.hendrikchristian.com, www.hendrikchristian.info, or .ws, .org, .biz, or anything behind? The only not available domain is www.chimit.com which was actually mine two years back.
Besides domain name, what kind of price do you think I should spent for website?

I woke up happilly Sunday morning, checked my email, then see what new comments I have in my blog. Clicked on one of the link on the side menu, then “HTTP 404 Page Not Found”. What ???!!!!
Tried few other pages, still HTTP 404. Tried the default page, “Under Construction” ????!!!! Heart pumping, hand sweating, but relaxxxx… don’t panicccc … OK, I assume all my pages are suddenly gone. I launched my cuteFTP and login to my webserver. Invalid login. What’s going on here? Typed the password, still invalid login. Went to the web-based and tried to login, invalid login again. Tried the forgot my password feature, another invalid login. Oh no…. quickly ran out of idea, I emailed their support, describing the issue I have here, and let’s see if they have replied after my lunch and dentist appointment.

I think I would like to share why this website exists in the first place. This website is my fifth (thus version 5.x) since I first learned how to create website back in 1999. Never mind my previous four which didn’t have much content (although it generated 9000 hits over four years ), I determined that starting from version 5, contents is much much more important than cool design. The hit counter itself shows this fact already. 9000 hits over the past four years, and starting with version 5, I have already had 900 hits in four weeks. And with its growing hits every week, let’s see if this website can reach 20000 by the end of this year.

My purpose when I created this website was to use it to communicate my thoughts, my experiments with my gadgets, tech news around the world that should appeal to many of my readers, any good songs I heard in radio daily, etc., all in all, I hope this website to be blessings for many. Yes Filo, I do hope it will edify others.

On the tech side, i’m quite a geek. At least others thought so. Too bad, I am a geek without golden voice or else I would have been American Idol, hahaha …
As few people have known, I have quite a broad technical knowledge, and like to tinker a lot with my gadgets and PC, so hopefully, in this front, I can be of any help for your tech problems with articles that I put in.

Also, on a personal thought part, I am still learning very much in this world, so I really really do hope that my readers also put comments in my article, write something in tagboard, email me to let me and the rest different insight/views on a particular post. It’s only these kind of encouragements and supports from all of you that keep me going.

After a few hours of design, bug fix, upload, fix, and re-upload, all the sections of my website are now up. Not much contents are in at the moment, but I already have all the contents in my OneNote waiting to be copy-and-pasted into the web.

I have been hosting my images for my blogdrive in Angelfire all these time, and suddenly Angelfire replaced all my images with “hosted in Angelfire” logo.
Please be patient with these error while I am fixing them.
