Southern Ridges Walk to Henderson Waves to Vivo City

Filed under: Going out, Personal Ramblings — hendrikch @ 2:23 pm

After a tiring and not-enough-sleep weeks, I have no idea how on earth I agreed to join for a morning walk to Southern Ridges instead of sleeping at home.

Let’s strike a pose before we all started walking.

We started the walk from Southern Ridges, just opposite Hort Park, walking through the very long bridge towards Vivo City. The bridge was so long, sometimes I wonder if I get lost. Then I saw this sign.

hmmm… If I take this staircase to exit to earth, where am I now?

Slightly over half an hour later, we had walked through the whole long bridge to the first checkpoint.

Soon after, we reached Henderson Waves, a structure that was made to look like waves. When you’re there, beware of crazy and wild animal like this one.

The complete gang who sacrificed their sleeping time for a walk in the morning. Ten of us, nine in the picture, one behind the camera hihihi …

We finally reached Vivo City close to 12pm, and what’s else were on our mind but not lunch? *sluurrrpp*

  3. Greetings from Hong kong!
My friend and i are visiting Singapore during Easter and definitely we’re amused by such nice wavy bridge…but we don’t have too much time. Only staying for 3D2N…
Please advise if takes less than an hour starting from Henderson Wave to Vivo City? Which MRT we should take to start at Henderson Wave?
Thanks a lot for ur kind help in advance!
    Cheers!
    ida

    • Hi ida, try Queenstown MRT, then you need to take a bus from there to Henderson Wave.
An hour probably a bit tight, but you should be able to do it.

Alternatively, start from Vivo City, walk to Henderson Wave and back, so you don’t need to go through a very long Hort Park.

  4. Hi Henrikch,

Thanks for your reply. It seems better starting from VIVO CITY? You mentioned ” walk to Henderson Wave and back…u mean turn back??
If starting from Henderson Wave, need to go through a very long Hort Park?
i read something somewhere else as below:
set off from Henderson Wave (distance: 0.3km/walking time: 05min)
    Hilltop walk (distance 1.0km/walking time:15min)
Forest Walk (distance: 1.3km/walking time: 20min)
    Alexandra Arh (distance:0.08km/walking time: 05min)
    Hortpork (distance1.1km/walking time: 15min)

    so in total: 1 hr…

frankly, we are interested in the henderson wave/hilltop walk/forest walk..but we don’t have much time…shopping at vivo city is not bad too…

could you please be so kind to suggest route? Best if we’re able to start/end close to MRT station….

    your advice is highly appreciated!

    cheers!

    ida

    • Hi ida, yes I mean turn back.
In the interest of time, I think you should start from Vivo City, to Henderson Wave, to Hilltop Walk and back. That’ll take you 45 minutes already. Spare 15 minutes for taking photos :-)

    • @ida: if anything about the weather is certain, is that it’s unpredictable :p

    • Hi genie, depends on how fast you walk, but i think prepare 2 hrs for a comfortable walk.
