There was a quiet bedroom, I was sleeping in it, about to wake up, the air-con was already off by timer since 5.30AM.
The time was 8AM. Then out of sudden, I felt a strong wind blowing on me. As much as I tried to ignore it, it was so strong and cold that I had to wake up. Looking up, I saw the air-con was on, blowing at full speed on me. I reached for the remote control and press the off button. Nothing happened, the air-con was still on. It can’t be the remote, on each press, the light indicator on the air-con switched. But no matter what the light indicator said, the air-con was still blowing. I frantically pressed all the buttons on the remote, on/off, swing, timer, sensor, mode, fan speed, anything I could see on the remote.
All commands from the remote control were ignored. The beep sound confirmed the signal remote control had been accepted, but it was still wasting my electricity like nobody business. I had one more idea, the main power switch.
When i went out of my bedroom, I realised, not only my bedroom’s aircon was on, but the ones in living room and other bedroom as well. Funny, odd to say the least. I switched off the main power switch, and all those pesky little aircon duly obliged. I hope they don’t automagically turn on again when I’m away for work. It was certainly the first time during my two years stay here, and I hope it was the last. Did anything similar ever happened to you?
