It’s a *bit* belated post. We all in Singapore, any many other countries, get two days of public holiday from last Thursday, so we effectively had four days of long break. As with all my break and weekends, I had a busy, fully packed days. These four days were no exception. My big and extended family members reached Singapore on Wednesday evening, and we had a reunion dinner at my sister’s place that night.
The first day of Chinese New Year on Thursday happened to be my birthday, or my birthday happen to be a public holiday, or …. you know …. It’s the first time that the government gave a public holiday to celebrate my birthday and my company gave me a half-day off the previous day. I’m truly honoured hehe… 
Anyway, I brought my whole big family to Esplanade, then we saw this gigantic plastic decoration opposite Esplanade.

The Friday was planned to visit Sentosa Flowers 2008 at Sentosa of course. To our horror upon reaching Vivo City, the queue for Sentosa Express train ticket was unbelievably long. From the ticket counter just beside Food Republic, people are making snake-like queue in the building, that extends all the way to outside of the building. My guess-timate of the queue will probably 400 persons. Even though the queue moved quite “fast”, we cancelled the idea of visiting Sentosa that day as we’re sure it’ll be *very* crowded there. Even we can somehow managed to reach Sentosa, we’re not sure how we can easily come back to the main land in the afternoon or evening.

That plan was quickly changed to East Coast instead. No flowers there, but still lots of fun. Before that, we need to recharge. Out of those few restaurants that are open that day, we settled for The Chicken Rice Shop. It’s surprisingly good, and don’t let the name fool you, they sell much more than just chicken rice. Six of us ordered $56 family feast meal that gives you half-chicken, one big plate of bean-sprout, one big bowl of fishballs, one plate of kai-lan vegetables, one jug of Pepsi, one plate of Japanese tofu, one big bowl of nata-de-coco, one-quarter of honey BBQ chicken, and few more menus that I can’t remember right now. A certain value for money I feel.

This man here draw the lines on the painting using hot metal to burn the paper, creating black colour lines on the paper, very impressive.
