Two choices, One choice

25 09 2006

Lucy has been walking in a dark cave for days, trying to find her way out of the cave, when she suddenly saw in front of her, that the cave is splitted into two ways, one to the left and one to the right. Lucy saw that the right one seems well … right, so she took that path and kept walking. Seven hours later, she started to doubt herself, “Have I taken the correct choice? What should I do now?” She kept walking and walking, one hour later, tired, so she sat down by the cave side. She started thinking of her choices now. One, keep walking and hope that her choice is right. After all, she could be nearer to the exit door that she thought she was. Second, waste her eight hours effort, walked back to where she started, and took the second choice, the left way, which can be wrong too, knowing she may not have enough time to get back here again, and surely regretted that she has left the right way.

What should Lucy do? What if she’s right? What if she’s wrong?

Laughter is the best medicine

24 09 2006

Some people said so.
From someone to me, transcripted, edited, and censored accordingly hehe…: “Dasar elu lucu kali !!!!!! Wakakakakakakaka… garink
Another time from another person: “hahaha…. kamu lucu banget deh…boleh jg nih kalo lg stress contact kamu. kok waktu disini ga selucu ini ya….. huahuahau…kalo ga kan, i bisa ketawa sampe guling2 dilantai. seumur hidup i hanya sekali ketawa kayak gitu

Glad to know that I can make someone’s day, by making them laugh. The latter one was certainly exaggerating, but I’m happy when I can make someone else happy and laugh :) Take things easy, laugh more, don’t stressed yourself out too much with things that shouldn’t be. I know, some other time, it’ll be their turn to make me laugh when I’m down. That’s what a friend is for after all, right? Strive to keep those kind of friends, because you never know what you ever had until you have lost it :)

Europe Trip Day 2: Frankfurt

24 09 2006

We woke up in the morning to join a half-day city tour in Frankfurt, and you know what, the city tour brought us to Römer to take photos, yeah, it was the place we went to ourselves the day before, and that’s all. So wasted!!! Anyway, since we have paid for it, we have to make full use of the city tour, so we went for another round of photo taking sessions in Römer haha…

frankfurt1
Clockwise: In front of Galeria Kaufhof in Haupwatche, a church in Römer, and a nice car spotted on the road side :)

frankfurt2
Goethe Haus Museum, somewhere in Haupwatche, and a bike for rent, would you believe. They called it Call and Bike hehe…

After we are done with the half-day city tour, we went ourselves for a cruise along River Main. There were two options, 50 mins for €6 per person or 100 mins for €8 per person. We chose the 100 minutes cruise. Good stuff they had English explanation on the cruise. The wind on the cruise was amazingly strong, but it was very relaxing to simply sit on the cruise and enjoy the view along the river.

cruise1
View from one of the bridge on River Main. Below the bridge was a piece of what I assume to be the history of that bridge, though I simply didn’t understand, hehe…

cruise2
On the cruise along River Main. Since it was 100 minutes voyage spanning over lunch time, it was always good to have some sausages, bread, and fries :)

After the voyage, we decided to explore Frankfurt. After all, we had our unlimited rides on subway, underground, buses, trams, any public transport they have except taxi. We took subway to a place and back, then took buses without any known destination, stopping when we feel like stopping by, then took the same bus to get back to where we were in the first place. Well, what else better way to explore a city unknown to us, right? :)

travel1
Frankfurt S-Bahn and U-Bahn map made Singapore MRT tracks looks dwarfish. Good thing there is they have ETA, not only for trains, but also for buses. Along the way, I spotted this huge Euro sign.

travel2
A nice jogging place by the River Main. To cross the road there, pedestrian need to tap their hand to a signal device that is installed on traffic lights all over Frankfurt.

In one of the tram stop, we anyhow just alighted, then walked around. To our surprise, we managed to find a very nice place for jogging besides River Main, near the tall glass building we saw during our cruise. My mom certainly enjoyed the feeling of sitting, relaxing, doing nothing besides a river, wind blowing gently, reminiscent of her childhood days. What a fond memories I’m sure!!! It was certainly a fruitful day exploring Frankfurt, though honestly, there isn’t much to see in Frankfurt after all. It’s a peace and quiet city I would say.

travel3
You can enter a bus or tram from the back door, but you have to press a button on the door located both inside and outside the bus to open the respective door. Another thing I noticed was people are allowed to bring animals into the bus. You can even bring ice cream into their train.
