MCSD.NET Certified

25 01 2005

At last, more than six months of self-study, I have obtained my MCSD.NET Certification. From Microsoft website, The Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET credential is the top-level certification for advanced developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions, using Microsoft development tools and technologies as well as the Microsoft .NET Framework.

Along the way, I also obtained certification for Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and  Microsoft Certified Application Developers (MCAD) which are both a sub-set of the MCSD certification. I am now one of only 9,428 persons worldwide to have these certifications. :D

Oh, happy day, and I can look forward to my trip to Bali on Thursday with peace of mind.

Blogdrive or Tabulas?

23 01 2005

I said in the Mini chat-room or Tagboard that the main reason I am looking to move to Tabulas is that Tabulas has email notification when someone reply your comments. This feature is not available in Blogdrive until now.

However, considering the trouble of moving from Blogdrive to Tabulas, I was thinking of any workaround that may solve this problem. Here is what I come out with and one which I need your help.

1. On the right hand column, on top of my counter, you should see a text box saying “If you want to be updated on this weblog Enter your email here:”. If you want to be notified when I update my blog with new entries, please enter your email address here, so whenever I post a new entry, you will be notified via email. Currently only a few people have registered their email address for this notification.

2. I have added the “Most Recent Comments” section on the right hand column, which I hope is useful enough for my readers to know what are the latest comments in my blog, instead of you checking each and every post to see if there are any new comments, or if anyone had reply your comments. This will not be live-updated though, since this section is updated manually by me everytime I visit my blog. However, I hope that this small addition is useful enough for you.

In the end, I concluded that these two steps should be enough to justify my decision NOT to move to Tabulas, but to say with Blogdrive. We’ll see how these two goes in the next few weeks. In the mean time, register your email address for that notification thing, will ya? Thanks.

Sports Day

22 01 2005

Today is a public holiday and I went to Pulau Ubin for cycling with my eight of my friends, Eric, Eko, Ruby, Ju Ko, Kecap, Jesse, Harpin, and Doddy. We all gathered in Tampines by 9.30 AM, and reached Pulau Ubin before 11 AM. We cycled half the island until it was 1.30 PM when we went for lunch. Amazingly, we finished our lunch shortly after 2 PM, presumably that we were very hungry. We continued the cycling to get round the remaining half of the island until we left the island at around 4 PM.

Reached home at around 7 PM, somehow, Eric and I continued to play tennis for 2.5 hours until 10.30 PM. The result after one full day of sports? My body ache, my skins looks reddish, a bit burnt by the sun, and more significant is my butt hurts!!!! Think I shouldn’t have sat on the saddle for extensive amount of time. Ohhhhh……. my ….. Let’s see how many kg I can lose thanks to today.

As usual, coverage is never complete with photos, so here we go.

Lunch @ Fullerton Hotel

13 01 2005

I had my super-sumptuous lunch last Friday at Fullerton Hotel, Town Restaurant, an international buffet at S$38 per person. The buffet offers a generous array of appetisers including salad and sushi, soup, a selection of local and western main courses, carvings, and desserts.
The environment was cozy, added with the delicious array of choices made it my best lunch I ever had. Their sushi and desserts was my favorite. Highly recommended to try, overall it was much better than the one in Amara hotel I had few weeks back.
Thanks to the “sinful” and fattening lunch, I had to exercise a little bit harder by playing tennis for 3.5 hours during the weekend.
